About the Role
As a Lead Engineer – HealthShare, you will be part of an Agile engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing healthcare data integration solutions. You will work on healthcare interoperability initiatives involving HealthShare, IRIS, HL7, FHIR, CCDA, and other healthcare messaging standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data integrations using InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS between HIE partners and internal on-premises and cloud systems.
- Debug and resolve defects in InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS environments connected to healthcare participants.
- Develop XSLTs and DTLs to transform CCDA, FHIR, and HL7 messages to and from Summary Document Architecture (SDA) format.
- Support system development, maintenance, and production activities.
- Create design and technical specifications based on business requirements.
- Follow software development best practices and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with developers, Technical Leads, and other cross-functional teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Contribute to successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Drive project and technology objectives in alignment with organizational requirements.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and support healthcare data exchange workflows.

Educational Qualifications
- Engineering or relevant degree – BE / ME / BTech / MTech / BSc / MSc
- Technical certifications in relevant technologies are desirable.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with **InterSystems HealthShare UCR, IRIS Database, ObjectScript, and XSLT development**.
- Strong software development experience.
- Experience with integration protocols including:
- TCP/IP
- MLLP
- SFTP
- REST
- SOAP
- Ability to create **DTL mappings** from SDA and develop workflows for document processing.
- Strong understanding of healthcare messaging formats and standards, including:
- CCDA
- HL7
- FHIR
- JSON
- XML
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with confidential information and handle sensitive technical and business issues with appropriate discretion and judgment.
Good to Have Skills
- Experience working with **CI/CD pipelines using GitLab**.
- Experience using **HealthShare Terminal sessions**.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies such as **SDLC and Agile**.
- Experience with relational databases such as **Oracle and SQL Server**.
- Experience with **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**, particularly Spanner and BigQuery.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability and integration architecture.
- Experience troubleshooting complex healthcare data exchange workflows.
