About the Role

As a Technical Lead – Snowflake + SQL, you will be part of an Agile data engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions on modern cloud data platforms.

You will work closely with Product, QA, and engineering teams to understand requirements, develop ETL pipelines, improve data quality, and deliver use-case-specific data solutions.

Responsibilities

- Perform data profiling to identify primary keys, data quality issues, duplicates, and other data inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to ingest data into the client data platform.
- Design processes for data cleansing and de-duplication.
- Create and maintain dimensional data structures based on business requirements.
- Develop use-case-specific datasets and outputs for downstream applications and analytics.
- Work closely with the Product team to understand, clarify, and refine requirements.
- Collaborate with QA teams to investigate and resolve reported issues and findings.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within an Agile team.
- Take ownership of assigned workstreams and proactively contribute to team objectives.
- Identify additional opportunities and tasks when the primary workstream has reduced workload.
- Mentor junior team members and support onboarding of new team members.
- Contribute to improving data engineering processes, quality, and efficiency.

Educational Qualifications

- Engineering or relevant degree – BE / ME / BTech / MTech / BSc / MSc
- Technical certifications in relevant technologies are desirable.

Mandatory Technical Skills

SQL:
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Hands-on experience with **Common Table Expressions (CTEs)**.
- Experience writing complex joins.
- Strong understanding of **analytic and window functions**.
- Ability to write optimized and maintainable SQL queries.

Python:
- Strong working knowledge of Python for data engineering and processing.
- Ability to develop scripts and automation for data-related tasks.

Snowflake:
- Hands-on experience with **Snowflake** cloud data platform.
- Understanding of Snowflake data structures, data processing, and query optimization.

Data Profiling:
- Ability to identify unique keys and primary keys.
- Understanding of data cardinality.
- Ability to analyze data types, precision, and scale.
- Ability to identify data skew and other data quality issues.
- Experience performing data quality and profiling activities.

Communication & Ownership:
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders, particularly Product and QA.
- Ability to understand the overall scope and context of assigned work.
- Strong ownership and proactive approach toward achieving project goals.
- Ability to work independently without requiring continuous direction.

Good to Have Skills

- Experience in the **Healthcare Industry**, particularly healthcare payer environments.
- Experience with **Data Modeling**.
- Advanced Python knowledge for data engineering and automation.
- Experience working with large-scale healthcare datasets.
- Understanding of healthcare data structures and analytics use cases.
